What is it?
Competencies in leadership refer to the skills, knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes that leaders need to effectively perform their roles and contribute to organizational success. They encompass both technical competencies (such as expertise in a specific area) and behavioral competencies (such as communication, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence). Competencies are critical for driving performance, guiding teams, and achieving strategic objectives. Competent leaders can adapt to changing environments, inspire others, and make informed decisions that positively impact the organization.
Key types of competencies in leadership include:
